Call for abstracts

General description

The European Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production is a prominent event that  has been established in 1994. The last conference was successfully organized in Prague in 2025 under the theme “Multi-stakeholder cooperation on sustainability”.

In 2027 we will continue the dialogue in Lisbon, aiming to provide a dynamic platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and policy initiatives, grounded in cutting-edge trans- and interdisciplinary research.

We welcome submissions that bring forward innovative perspectives, foster critical discussions and advance strategies that support transformative change and innovations under the overarching theme “Towards sustainable and circular societies”.

Looking forward to your contributions and to meeting you in a stimulating conference!

Submission guidelines

Abstracts for oral presentations or posters

When writing your abstract, we recommend the following structure:

  • Background: State the context, the problem being addressed, and the objectives of the study.
  • Methods: Briefly describe the research/project design, data collection, and analytical methods if applicable.
  • Results: Summarize the primary findings or expected outcomes (do not simply reference data without interpretation).
  • Conclusion: State the implications of your findings and the significance of the research.

Submitting authors are invited to indicate to which thematic track(s) their proposals relate. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to decide to which topic and which parallel session the proposals will finally be allocated. All accepted abstracts will be included in an ISBN-published Book of Abstracts.

Abstracts must adhere to the provided template. Please read the instructions carefully; the abstracts which do not adhere to these requirements and format will be returned for resubmittal. Please carefully proofread the abstract before submission, and if necessary have it reviewed by a native English speaker.

Proposals for sessions/workshops

We also welcome proposals for innovative, bold, unconventional and far-reaching sessions/workshops under the overarching theme of the conference until December 10, 2026. These sessions/workshops are meant to trigger a lively debate and confront ideas on the proposed topic (which may correspond to the pre-defined thematic tracks or not). Send your proposal using the template below, and including:

  • The rationale for proposing it, including previous research/work done in the field
  • Which emerging/controversial ideas are expected to be addressed
  • Proposed duration: between 30 min and 2 hours
  • Proposed format: speakers’ corner, fishbowl, debate…
